Last week I was invited to Copenhagen to join the European press conference by imm Cologne, one of the first fairs of 2025 from 12-16 januari. In two days we learned what we can expect from the upcoming edition. We were welcomed in the centre of Copenhagen for a meeting with Denmark Creative Industry and the next day the conference took place at the beautiful Louisiana Museum outside Copenhagen.
Innovative, international and forward-looking – is how imm cologne 2025 will be presented under the banner of its central theme, ‘Connecting Communities’. The circles, first introduced at imm 2024, will return as important focal points to connect all visitors. Connecting, collaborating, finding business collaborations and moving forward in the industry are some of the key points for 2025.
Meeting brands and fellow online creators, sharing ideas and discussing the different furniture is something I personally always really enjoy visiting fairs. I am also really looking forward to the new partner country concept imm will launch in 2025 with Denmark as the first partner country.
Scandinavian design has been a long time favourite of mine. Some of you might remember I brought my favourite brands together on commission of imm when asked to share my personal design highlights in a Trade fair tour for the 2018 fair in Cologne which I called ‘The new Scandinavian
Partner country Denmark
In close collaboration with Danish Industry and Creative Denmark, imm cologne 2025 will launch its new partner country concept. With Denmark being the first country! Danish exhibitors presenting their latest interpretations and the outstanding quality of Danish furniture design and craft skills in Cologne will be a key feature. The programme is supplemented with events from Creative Denmark, which puts the Danish creative industry in the spotlight.
More than 20 Danish companies, including Unique Furniture, Skovby and Actona Group, have already signed up to take part in imm cologne 2025 and more are expected. At the Danish pavilion, Danish manufacturers will present their products to visitors. Next to the pavilion different Danish brands will have their own stand.
With this partnership, imm cologne underlines its ambition to remain a global meeting place for the furniture industry and creative sector, and to continue to build an international platform for innovative furnishing solutions.
Circular design
Denmark was one of the first countries to combine industrial manufacturing with a timeless, functional style, and it has produced countless design classics, particularly during the mid-century period. Today, Danish design is also synonymous with sustainability and the circular economy. Circular design will be one of the other focus points at imm 2025. And with its well known Pure, Home and Sleep segments, imm cologne showcases all that the interior design world has to offer, making it the most wide-ranging global industry event for interior design professionals.
