Crofts & Assinder has a rich and varied history, specialising in the design and manufacture of luxury cabinet handles and fittings. Proud of their British roots, they have remained in Birmingham from the beginning and are still a family business.

This year marks Crofts & Assinder’s 150th anniversary; an incredible milestone for a family business and one which will be celebrated all year. Company Chairman, Guy Crofts has been with the company for 60 of those years, and is proud of the company’s ability to consolidate, diversify and grow, always ensuring that the brand of Crofts & Assinder was synonymous with quality. As he puts it: “I’m very proud and grateful for the efforts and hard work of all of our employees over the many years. It is they that continue to make our success as a family business. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those past and present for their dedication and commitment.”

Established in 1875 George Crofts and Fredrick Assinder commenced trading as brass founders at the heart of British industry in Birmingham, England. To this day, Crofts & Assinder has stood the test of time and still remains in the same hands of the families that created the company at the outset.

In their 150-year history they have had the privilege of dressing furniture at London’s Ritz and Waldorf hotels, Parliament House in Buenos Aires and ships of the Cunard and White Star Line.

Today they have two main brands: The Special Works range (distinctly luxurious solid brass hardware for that extra touch of indulgence) and the Style Guide range for fantastic quality, essential handles and knobs made predominantly from Iron and Zamak.

Crofts & Assinder endeavour to make the ordinary extraordinary, combining a unique blend of our British heritage with timeless design and quality.
