This eclectic, historic, and roomy apartment (photographed by Frederik J Karlsson for Alvhem) features exquisite details, including delicately painted murals with natural themes.
Large florals and leafy greens adorn the ceiling and trail delicately down part of the walls in this historic apartment, while large built-ins provide more than ample room for books, small statues, and other decorative objects. The light taupe base color on the walls adds an earthy vibe to the space. An antique dining table pairs beautifully with cane chairs to create a mixture of old world charm and global-inspired style.
In the dining room, a mid-century-modern-inspired chandelier hangs above the table, featuring white glass globes that give it a whimsical appeal. Green plants contribute to the earthy, laid-back feeling in this space, while large windows flood the room with natural light. Soft taupe ceiling-to-floor curtains add a touch of softness and make it easy to block the light when needed.

No detail is overlooked in this part of the apartment, particularly when it comes to the mural. White blooms and rich green leaves start on the ceiling and trail their way down to create a warm, comfortable environment. The designer added a range of unique items to the built-ins, including vases, small sculptures, seashells, and books. A large floor vase made of white and blue ceramic is nestled in the corner next to a woven stool that adds extra texture and additional seating.

As the dining room leads into the kitchen, green colors start to appear in various hues. The earthy green kitchen cabinets work beautifully against the lighter tones of the dining room. A modern white glass pendant light above the island adds a modern touch to the space, but another large potted plant carries the nature-inspired theme throughout. Hardwood floors also make this apartment a warm and inviting space.

Upon entering the kitchen, darker brown walls appear. This color change delineates the kitchen from the dining room and helps the matching smaller white glass pendant lights above the sink area stand out. The absence of upper cabinets replaced by open shelving makes it easy to decorate the kitchen and bring it into the entire apartment, and not just one or two rooms.

A warm gray stone top on the kitchen island paired with chrome, padded barstools gives the kitchen a sense of relaxation, where you can easily sit down and enjoy breakfast, chat with guests, or simply rest and regroup. The oven and hood fan are nestled in the corner along an angular wall – a smart design choice.

Hidden behind some of the kitchen’s green cabinets is a large pantry with roomy shelves. Cookbooks, jars of spices and other ingredients, plates, and silverware are all stored here. The person living here also chose to make this a convenient coffee bar that neatly tucks away out of view when not in use.

Adding to the eclectic vibe is this room with a unique living room gallery wall featuring a variety of pieces featured in different themes, ranging from modern to global. It also features a rich brown wall color and a differently designed white pendant light above the coffee table. A large white sectional sofa makes the space feel comfortable and relaxing.

Lighter wood floors in the living room add yet another unique feature to this historic apartment. The mixture of materials like fabric, wood, and metal contributes to its eclectic vibe.

The bedroom is still eclectic but less cluttered, making it a comfortable space for sleeping. A lighter wall color also makes this space feel calming an soothing.

Rather than a traditional closet, the bedroom here features a large armoire built in on one side to store clothing and shoes. An oversized paper pendant light adds a fun element to the space, and a desk and office chair nestled by the window make it a versatile space for work and sleep.

Unique elements like cartoon-themed framed wall art and sculptural bats or dragons give this room a fun touch. It also features built-ins and has a light, bluish color on the walls. A cabinet with woven baskets ties the natural theme of the other rooms into this one.

This bedroom also features light-colored wood floors and plenty of space for storage and display, thanks to the wall shelves, desk, and built-ins.

A charming daybed with wooden details makes this bedroom charming and fun. The window by the bed adds natural light, and a white bookcase nestled nearby offers the perfect spot for books and more.

The foyer attached to the kitchen gives a space that separates the bedrooms from the rest of the home and adds to the welcoming feel.

This room features a golden-brown paint that covers every inch of the walls and built-ins. Hooks provide an area for hats, and a large mirror gives you a place to check your outfit before leaving for the day.
