This unique Swedish house (Styled and photographed by Therese Jahnson for Historiska Hem), done up in a fun eclectic style, has been furnished with rare vintage finds. Each room brings with it a new surprise and more to look at and explore. With colors, fabrics, finishes, and patterns galore, this space evokes happiness and a sense of exhilaration.
An eclectic living room with light blue walls and a zebra couch
The zebra-print couch is welcoming and contrasts with the blueish paint on the wall. However, the zebra shag rug effortlessly combines the zebra look with blue to bring this unique room together in an eclectic, fun way.
The Q in the window likely stands for the family who resides within the space. The candles on the coffee table contrast with the more modern feel of the furniture. The beautiful wood windows are decor on their own and are not covered or hampered by window coverings, letting the light shine in.

On the opposite side of the zebra couch, the eye is drawn to a large green built-in storage space. Standing in front is a golden or bronze kangaroo that likely has a name and personality as unique as the space in which it resides. The wood-burning stove in the corner promises warmth and a welcoming, inviting atmosphere.

Greens, blues, and blacks are all interwoven into this space, which also features unique items like the ball tower on the side table. The plant held up by the bold blue plant table brings all the colors together seamlessly.

The art on the wall features geometric shapes, colors, and patterns that contrast with the more fluid patterns found elsewhere in the room. Likely, many of these pieces are vintage finds.

A spacious dining room with lots of decor pieces
The dining room features a tulip table in white, a glass front cabinet, a unique water fountain feature, and a palm tree statue. Although these pieces, including the chairs with wicker bases, don’t seem to correlate, together, they make up a light, airy, and appealing feel in the room.

The cabinet to the side of the white table has a vintage art deco feel with an aquarium scene featured on the front. The large books situated underneath are massive volumes of some sort that invite more exploration.

A light grey kitchen with butcher block countertops and classic touches
The kitchen is uniquely furnished with interesting cabinetry. Although grey in color, the nature of the cabinets is different enough to fit in perfectly with the rest of the space. The butcher block countertops add a beautiful natural element to the room.
The kitchen island is centered in the room, and there is a unique vintage chandelier that hangs over the top.

While many of the furnishings throughout the home are vintage, the kitchen appliances seem modern and exude a minimalist design look. Of course, the colorful artwork and plants presented throughout the space incorporate texture and color into the room.

On the opposite wall of the kitchen is a beautiful, classic-looking cabinet that includes an abundance of dishware. No uninspired china here. This stuff is for everyday use, and it’s well-loved and all different.

An eclectic kid’s bedroom with lots of details
The child’s bedroom offers a glimpse back in time when imagination was key and innovative interactive play was all that existed. The room is light and airy with a welcoming bed, and toy airplanes are hanging from the ceiling, which are likely the impetus to many a bedtime story.

The large, vintage chest in the bedroom is likely used as storage, but it seems to fit well in this imaginative room where pirate stories and tales of old are likely told.

Another child’s bed is done up in white and yellow, and the room also features a wall of shelves. The photos on the wall are colorful and magical, featuring animals. There is even a bird light fixture that likely has its own name.

The bright yellow room makes you smile when entering, and the striped comforter with the jungle-themed window drapes seems to contrast, yet this look works. The space is comforting and inviting with bold colors and happy vibes.

The blue desk with the interesting-looking lamp makes the perfect setting for studying or learning. The dinosaur on the desk looks fun, as does the unique artwork, including the picture of the planets.

Main bedroom with dark blue walls and classic gold touches
The master bedroom with deep blue walls exudes old-world elegance and a time gone by. The bed is inviting with light fabric, and the walls feature art in heavy brass frames.

A small vintage desk stands out against the dark blue wall color and offers a perfect place to sit and get some work done.

A walk-in closet with IKEA modules is painted in the same blue wall color as the bedroom.

A half shiplap, half wallpapered hallway with a vintage dresser
The hallway features white shiplap on the bottom of the walls, paired with a beautiful patterned wallpaper on the top half. The vintage dresser adds a beautiful dark wood tone to the setting.

A bright red chair adds a wonderful pop of color to the hallway space.

A classic bathroom with blue walls and gold accents
The bathroom features clean tiles and white spacious, open, and airy spaces. The green-patterned wallpaper contrasts well with the stark white tile to create a fun, eclectic look.

A vintage vanity is painted black, providing a stark contrast with the white tiles. A simple round mirror and two vintage lamps make the look of this corner complete.

A beautiful white soaking tub is added to the other side of the bathroom next to the shower.
